UnitingWorld

Photo + Video | MarketLaneMedia has worked with UnitingWorld since 2016 to create more than 20 campaign videos and thousands of still images. UnitingWorld is a nonprofit that connects communities in Australia, the Pacific, Asia and Africa to partner in overcoming poverty.

Build Peace, Beat poverty

In early 2020, I filmed a five-part video series highlighting UnitingWorld's peace-building programme in Ambon, Indonesia — a community working to overcome the legacy of violence between Muslims and Christians that left 5,000 dead and 70,000 homeless in the early 2000s.

Clean Water SavES Lives

In early 2019 I filmed the story of fifteen year-old Rani. She is one of Papua New Guinea’s 4.8 million people at risk of death from dirty water. Several times each day she walks twenty minutes to a well on the other side of her community to fill her jerry can.

Let’s End Poverty Together

In 2018 I created UnitingWorld’s End of Financial Appeal video featuring a community in Bali. This video was awarded a Fundraising Institute of Australia Award for Excellence in Fundraising: Donor Renewal – Under $5 Million.

BRINGING PEACE IN South Sudan

In 2017, I filmed this episode as part of a five-part series for UnitingWorld, following Christian leaders from Sudan who fled conflict to neighbouring Kenya, where they are caring for people traumatised by war, teaching peace and forgiveness, and rebuilding livelihoods.

We All Deserve To Be Treated Equally

In late 2018 I produced a video for Vanuatu TV featuring leaders condemning violence against women and children. Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and ACFID used this as a case study as an effective approach to tackle gendered violence.

Disaster Ready | Saving Lives

In early 2019 I created a video for UnitingWorld about disaster preparedness. Every $1 invested into disaster preparation can save as much as $15 in the aftermath of a tragedy .

CBM GLOBAL

Advocacy Media and Communications Officer, 2020–2022

International Day of People with Disabilities Campaign

I led CBM Global's largest annual campaign on the theme 'Build Back A Better World For All', centring the stories of people with disabilities across Africa, Asia and the Pacific. Working with contributors across three continents, I developed all written and social content applying ethical storytelling and dignity-led representation principles throughout, and created an accessible communications kit for fifty partner organisations including captioned videos, sign language-interpreted content and alt text for all social images.

Annual Impact Report

I designed, wrote and distributed One World Media's Annual Impact Report, producing the publication end to end from editorial strategy through to design and distribution.

Teaching & Knowledge Sharing

Guest Lecture, UAL — March 2026

Building Sustainable Early Journalist Careers in a Changing Media Landscape

A three-hour session with Masters students at the University of the Arts London focused on preparing for the realities of entering the media industry.

Alexandra came in to deliver an employability session for MA Journalism students at London College of Communication. She shared not only valuable insights from her own career, but also perspectives from others, enriching the session even further. Her preparation was thorough, offering students many actionable takeaways. She was personable, engaging, and connected well with the students.

FIELD TRAINING AND CONTENT GATHERING

UnitingWorld Philippines and Papua New Guinea | 2016–2018

Mercy Corps | 2022–2024

I have designed and delivered media and communications training across multiple countries and contexts, from community members and grassroots communicators with little prior experience through to regional communications professionals across Asia. At UnitingWorld in the Philippines and Papua New Guinea, I built training from scratch in video production, photography, copywriting and digital advocacy, working directly with programme staff and communities, applying ethical storytelling and informed consent principles throughout. At Mercy Corps, I established the organisation's first Asia Regional Communications Community of Practice, convening communicators across ten countries to coordinate content and align messaging.
