One World Media

May 2025 – present

I drive the editorial strategy, planning and delivery of One World Media's external communications, profiling industry perspectives and underreported global stories as well as ghostwriting on behalf of senior voices within the organisation. I also build and manage media relations across UK, European and international outlets to secure coverage and positioning One World Media as a leading voice in the global media landscape.

Mercy Corps

May 2022 – May 2025

“Alexandra has done a tremendous job... Her presence at COP helped increase our coverage to a great degree and earned the respect of the wider delegation and climate teams broadly. Thank you Alexandra for a job well done, for being self-reflective and knowing where the gaps are, and for holding me to account as a team leader when needed.”
— Kyle DeGraw, Director of Media and Communications for Europe, Mercy Corps

I drove Mercy Corps' UK and European communications strategy across fast-moving humanitarian emergencies and policy moments. This included leading the organisation's communications across three consecutive UN Climate Conferences, resulting in a 480% increase in media coverage from COP26 to COP27. I also served as media lead for the Pakistan floods, Turkey-Syria earthquake, Afghanistan earthquakes, and ongoing conflicts in Ukraine, Gaza, Myanmar and Sudan. From COP to conflict, I managed reputational risk, handled hundreds of media inquiries and developed senior leader thought-leadership and commentary to secure top-tier placements.

Sudan Crisis Media Campaign (2024)

I led a UK-facing media campaign to raise the profile of the Sudan crisis, one of the world's most severe but underreported humanitarian emergencies, on the UK public and political agenda.

I developed and delivered an integrated media, social, and advocacy strategy around the launch of a major report: If Bullets Miss, Hunger Wont. Beyond the Numbers: Hunger and Conflict in Sudan, aligning national press coverage with direct policymaker engagement and coordinated social amplification. This included securing early positioning with our CEO speaking at the Paris Pledging Conference for Sudan, and leading a coordinated media push that landed interviews across BBC News, Sky News, Channel 4, BBC Scotland and France 24. In parallel, I developed messaging and assets for the fundraising and social media teams, ensuring the campaign landed consistently across owned channels and directly tagged target UK politicians.

Alongside pitching, I also developed messaging for executive and senior Sudan programme leaders visiting the UK, for use in media interviews, meetings with FCDO and MPs through the APPG, and a briefing at Chatham House.

Outcome: In November 2024, the UK government doubled its funding for Sudan.

CBM GLOBAL

Advocacy Media and Communications Officer, 2020–2022

Miracles Day Campaign

I led the nationwide media campaign for CBM Australia's flagship fundraiser, securing coverage across thirty radio and television stations in Australia. A highlight of the campaign was a story I ideated and pitched about Curtis Span, an 11-year-old whose determination to help children living in poverty caught the attention of national broadcast media — landing a feature segment on Channel 9 News that was picked up by the Today Show the following day.

  • 100+ media interviews secured across radio and TV

  • $1 million fundraising target exceeded by 80%

  • 20% increase in Australian media share of voice

International Day of People with Disabilities Campaign

I led CBM Global's largest annual multi-channel campaign with the theme “Build Back A Better World For All” during the COVID pandemic, developing strategy, leading a working group, creating all external communications, coordinating contributors across Africa, Asia and the Pacific, and developing a communications kit for fifty partner organisations. Efforts resulted in:

A three-hour session with Masters students at the University of the Arts London focused on preparing for the realities of entering the industry.
